Instrumentation and Control Technician

JOB PURPOSE -


The Instrumentation & Controls Technician, disassembles, inspects, cleans, repairs, calibrates, tests, and performs periodic maintenance of field instruments, equipment systems and controls. Evaluates and determines necessary modification, performs complex repairs or removal of instruments or devices needing overhaul during scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting while performing unscheduled work.


Key Accountabilities -


 Record and report abnormal function or out of tolerance conditions of equipment and initiate corrective action and documentation.

 Provide documents daily record of inspection, maintenance activity, repair and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures.

 Reinstall, test, evaluate, calibrate, and maintain instruments or devices upon completion of repairs.

 Communicate with customer staff in the calibration, repair and operation of equipment as necessary.

 Perform work in accordance with approved equipment, calibration, maintenance and safety procedures.

 Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments  Travel may be required

 Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on power tools, hand tools and training equipment.

 Move machinery and equipment using hoists, cranes, chain falls and trucks.

 Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, dial indicators and/or laser alignment equipment.

 Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers, protractors, and torque wrenches.

 Responsible for shipping and receiving all major pieces for T&DC, plus all shipping, receiving, inventory, and control of tools, equipment and supplies.

 Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Diploma or associate degree in Technical Field, Gas Turbine Systems Technician preferred.


Minimum Experience:

 Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.

 Must possess experience in basic tooling Skills.

 Strategic and commercial mindset to contribute towards the success of a new business unit.

 Ability to originate and build relationships at senior level.

 Ability to execute processes based on technical know-how.

 Good understanding of latest technology and innovation.

 Knowledge of applicable legal / quality / HSSE requirements.

 Good knowledge of power plant maintenance, its equipment, practices, procedures.
