The Role
We are seeking a design-driven sales professional who thrives at the intersection of interior design and client relationships. This role is about more than selling furniture—it’s about guiding clients through a process that results in spaces that feel personal, functional, and lasting.
What You’ll Do
Client Experience & Sales
- Create a welcoming, consultative showroom experience—never high-pressure
- Build meaningful relationships with clients and understand how they live
- Confidently guide clients from initial inspiration through final purchase
- Lead clients through customization options including fabrics, finishes, scale, and configuration
- Close sales through trust, expertise, and follow-through
Design & Consultation
- Execute Mercato’s in-home design process in alignment with company standards
- Assist with space planning, product selection, and cohesive room design
- Present personalized solutions that balance comfort, function, and aesthetic
- Collaborate with the design team on larger or full-home projects
Sales Process & Follow-Through
- Manage the full sales cycle: approach, discovery, presentation, objection handling, closing, and post-sale service
- Maintain ongoing relationships with past and prospective clients
- Create and present customized design and product proposals
Product Knowledge & Expertise
- Develop a deep understanding of luxury materials, craftsmanship, and construction
- Stay current on design trends, materials, and global influences
- Communicate the value and differentiation of high-end furnishings
Who You Are
- Passionate about interior design and how spaces impact daily life
- Experienced in luxury furniture sales or interior design (2+ years required)
- Skilled in consultative selling and closing high-value transactions
- A positive, can-do professional who approaches challenges with solutions and initiative
- Brings an upbeat, energetic presence that enhances both the client experience and team environment
- A collaborative team player who values working collectively to achieve shared goals
- Tech-savvy and comfortable using digital tools to support the sales process
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple clients and priorities in a fast-paced showroom
- A strong communicator who thrives in a team-oriented environment
