Job Overview:
Emerson Grace Design is a full-service interior design firm with a studio in Lafayette. We work on residential and boutique commercial projects in the Bay Area and beyond.
We’re a small team, all working collaboratively to create beautiful, well-managed projects for happy clients. This position requires the ability to lead an interior design project, work well with other stakeholders; both internal and external and have a design sensibility that aligns with our firm.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in a full service interior design firm, REQUIRED
- Chief Architect Proficiency Preferred, AutoCAD required
- Strong technical skills including strong experience with Chief Architect, Sketch Up, Studio Designer, Basecamp, and Google Workspace
- Incredible attention to detail and follow-through
- A high level of integrity and adherence to the firm’s values, beliefs and principles
- Strong communication skills for client presentations and team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Liaison between Principal and outside stakeholders from kick off to installation; managing the project, including client communication and budget
- In support and alongside the Principal, collaborate with clients to understand and develop the vision for the project
- Responsible for project pacing; moving the project along and managing the speed, accuracy and profitability of the project
- Communicate with clients in person and in writing throughout project always mindful of delivering the highest level of client service
- Create initial client budget
- Attend site visits and work with architects, builders and project managers to execute plans efficiently
- Create existing floor plans, proposed floor plans, electrical plans and furniture plans, elevations and FFE schedules
- Create renderings with an eye for detail and accuracy
- Create all floor plans in accordance with EGD standards
- Create mood boards, material boards/design presentations
- Assist and oversee furniture sourcing, selection of finishes and all items necessary for design of space
- Design custom furniture and millwork using Sketch Up and Chief Architect
- Communicate with vendors/reps on samples, pricing, lead times and designspecifications
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing across all stakeholders
- Record, organize and track vital project information
- Manage all vendors necessary for the completion of the project
- Prepare, attend and assist with management of project installation
Skills:
- Established design aesthetic with a portfolio of relevant work
- Ability to lead and manage a project from concept through to completion within budget
- Ability to communicate with clients, vendors, architects, builders, subcontractors and stakeholders with project goals at the forefront of all communication
- Ability to collaborate and work harmoniously on a team
- Familiar with the SFDC showrooms
- Must have a car and a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to client sites

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
