Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Full-Time Intermediate Investment Accountant to join our Wealth Management and Protection team based at our head office in the West Perth office. The Intermediate Investment Accountant's primary responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day administration and operational needs of our Wealth Management and Protection Team, including tasks such as investment research, reviewing portfolios to ensure that asset allocations and portfolio designs align with clients' needs and risk preferences, implementing investment changes, preparing supporting advice and compliance documents, implementing advice recommendations including management of applications for superannuation, pension accounts and insurance and, preparing documentation for advice, client reviews and general administration.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supporting our tight-knit team, managing the workload and workflow, delegating the work and ensuring it's completed accurately and on time;
  • Working closely with our Advisors and our Client Care Team who maintain the day to day client relationships;
  • Communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Providing administrative support through all areas of the Advice process;
  • Preparing compliant, personalised Statements of Advice and Records Of Advice for new and existing clients;
  • Preparation of documents and forms for client meetings for use by our Advisors and our Client Care Team;
  • Preparation of New Client Packs and Client Review Packs;
  • Conducting investment research;
  • Creating and maintaining effective external relationships with industry contacts and internal stakeholders;
  • Liaising with product providers - insurance, super and investment platforms;
  • Research of products and preparation of comparison reports;
  • Preparation, lodgement and tracking of applications;
  • Inputting/overviewing the input of new data into XPlan and maintaining the database;
  • Implementation of advice strategies;
  • Undertaking share market trading and order management;
  • Assisting clients with administration-based queries with regards to share market trades and accounts;
  • Assist with share market related administration, portfolio and transaction preparation;
  • Liaising with third party product and service providers regarding client queries; and
  • Procedure writing and maintaining documentation templates and filing systems.

As the successful Intermediate Investment Accountant you will have:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business, Finance or a related discipline (preferred);
  • Diploma of Financial Planning (preferred);
  • Minimum 3+ years current experience within a Financial Planning Environment
  • RG146 compliance;
  • Understanding compliance and legal requirements (FDS) within the industry;
  • Exposure to XPLAN is beneficial;
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including strong verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate verbally when receiving/actioning tasks;
  • Client service focus;
  • Proven experience supervising junior staff, with the ability to provide guidance, feedback, and support in a professional team environment.
  • A strong sense of initiative, commitment to the role and self-motivation;
  • The ability to learn and adapt to new client management systems;
  • Competent & comfortable working in a fast paced environment that often requires you to multi-task;
  • High attention to detail;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills - Written & Verbal;
  • Professional presentation;
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times;
