Inventory & Purchasing Manager

MIDCO is seeking an organized, proactive, and analytically minded Inventory + Purchasing Manager to help develop and improve our inventory operations, purchasing systems, and supply chain planning.

This role is critical to supporting the company’s operational stability and future growth. We are looking for someone who can help transition inventory management from a reactive process into a more strategic and scalable function through improved forecasting, purchasing discipline, vendor management, inventory planning, and operational process development.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years experience in inventory or purchasing and is looking to take on more responsibility. They are someone who enjoys identifying inefficiencies, building structure, improving systems, and creating long-term operational improvements rather than simply maintaining existing processes.

This position will work cross-functionally with sales, warehouse operations, accounting, vendors, and leadership to help ensure MIDCO has the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time.

Inventory Management

  • Manage day-to-day inventory operations and inventory accuracy
  • Monitor stock levels across product categories and identify replenishment needs
  • Assist with inventory forecasting and seasonal purchasing planning
  • Help reduce stockouts, excess inventory, and slow-moving inventory
  • Coordinate inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation processes
  • Identify inventory inefficiencies and help develop improved operational processes
  • Assist in building more scalable inventory planning and reporting systems
  • Work with warehouse operations to improve inventory flow, organization, and efficiency
  • Coordinate with internal accounting to audit and align with on inventory value

Purchasing & Vendor Coordination

  • Create and manage purchase orders
  • Coordinate purchasing schedules based on demand and lead times
  • Communicate with domestic and international vendors regarding orders, timelines, and inventory needs
  • Monitor vendor lead times and supply chain risks
  • Assist with vendor negotiations and cost management initiatives
  • Track freight, landed costs, and purchasing trends; Coordinate with internal stakeholders on pricing.

Customer & Operational Issue Resolution

  • Assist in resolving inventory and product-related customer issues
  • Coordinate with vendors, warehouse operations, and internal teams regarding damaged shipments, defective products, shortages, and replacement needs
  • Help identify recurring operational or quality issues and contribute to long-term corrective solutions
