Job Summary
The Investment Banking Managing Director is responsible for leading deal origination, client relationships, and transaction execution across mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates. This senior leader drives revenue growth, oversees client delivery, and mentors the broader investment banking team. The role requires deep market knowledge, strong commercial instincts, and a proven ability to win and close high-value transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate new business opportunities and build long-term client relationships.
- Lead pitch development, proposals, and client presentations.
- Oversee end-to-end transaction execution, including valuation, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
- Drive revenue growth and profitability for the investment banking franchise.
- Manage and mentor directors, vice presidents, associates, and analysts.
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, risk, operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor market trends and identify strategic opportunities for the firm.
- Maintain high standards of governance, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or a related advisory role.
- Strong track record of originating and executing M&A, capital markets, or financing transactions.
- Excellent client relationship, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and deal-structuring expertise.
- Proven leadership experience managing senior teams.
- MBA or master’s degree preferred; professional finance credentials are an advantage.
