Role purpose
The IELTS on Computer Invigilator is responsible for the administration, security, and smooth delivery of the IELTS test in a digital environment. Operating strictly in accordance with IELTS rules and regulations , this role ensures absolute test integrity while maintaining a supportive, professional, and seamless customer service environment that enables candidates to perform at their best.
Key accountabilities
1. Technical & Room Setup
- System & Hardware Readiness: Set up computer workstations and ensuring all hardware is fully functional before candidates enter.
- Platform Verification: Launch and check the testing platform on all devices, ensuring systems are securely locked down and ready for login.
- Stationery & Materials: Layout permitted physical stationery, login credentials, and necessary rough work materials in accordance with strict IELTS regulations.
2. Candidate Management & Customer Service
- Check-In & Identity Verification: Perform rigorous identity, passport, and biometric checks prior to and during the test.
- Admissions Guidance: Direct candidates to their designated computer stations and enforce strict rules regarding prohibited personal belongings.
- Candidate Support: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing candidate technical or operational queries in a calm, professional manner.
3. Test Invigilation & Security
- Monitoring & Compliance: Closely follow, execute, and enforce all official IELTS testing procedures, security protocols, and invigilation regulations.
- Environment Control: Maintain absolute silence and active surveillance throughout the test room to prevent and detect malpractice or cheating.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Actively assist candidates with basic computer-based issues (e.g., volume adjustments, screen freezing, or hardware replacement) and escalate major system disruptions immediately to the Test Centre Administrator.
- Irregularity Reporting: Document and deal with any testing irregularities or technical disruptions during the session exactly in accordance with standard operating procedures.

- Digital Literacy: Proficiency in handling computer hardware, navigating digital interfaces, and a quick adaptability to testing software.

Education & Experience
- Successful completion of a Secondary/High School diploma (minimum requirement).
- Previous experience in invigilation, technical support, or high-stakes customer service environments is an asset.
Job Details & Application
- Hours & Availability: Shift schedules are dependent on test bookings (often including Saturdays and weekdays). Shifts typically begin early (e.g., 7:00 AM) and require availability for approximately 6 to 8 hours per test day.
