Job Purpose:

• We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Irrigation manager to lead a team of Irrigation Operation and maintenance who operate and maintain Irrigation network to irrigation all plants and trees of the nursery.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Irrigation and horticulture, team management, and maintenance management.

Job Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of a Senior Irrigation Nursery Manager may include:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the nursery, including scheduling and supervising staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
• Overseeing the growing and maintenance of plants.
• Managing irrigation systems and ensuring that plants receive the correct amount of water and nutrients.
• Ensuring that the nursery is well-maintained, and that equipment is in good working order.
• Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
• Developing and implementing strategies to increase plant production and improve efficiency.
• Operate and maintain Rainbird Irrigation System IVM / LXD ( IQ3 & IQ4 )
• Ensuring that all health and safety regulations are followed, and that the nursery operates in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Supervising the construction of new irrigation systems or repairing existing ones
• Preparing reports, writing memos, and speaking with clients about the progress of an irrigation project.
• Designing Irrigation Networks and Pumping System Including All electrical and mechanical components.
• Monitoring the quality of water entering and leaving the irrigation system to ensure that it meets health and safety standards
• Evaluating the effectiveness of irrigation systems to determine if they need repair or replacement.
• Analyzing soil conditions and making recommendations for improving the crop’s yield potential
• Monitoring the progress of construction projects and ensuring that they are being carried out according to plan.
• Monitoring water levels in reservoirs and other sources of water to ensure adequate supply during periods of high demand

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

• Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department’s systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

• To be successful in this role, an Irrigation Nursery Manager should have a degree in horticulture or a related field, as well 8-10 years of experience managing a nursery or similar operation.
• Strong organizational and management skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Additionally, a deep understanding of irrigation systems and plant care is necessary to succeed in this role.
