Summary
-
Looking for an Information Security Analyst. Your main job is to help keep the organization’s computer systems safe—especially systems that store confidential information about children and families. You will check for security problems, monitor logs, follow rules set by federal and state agencies, and help prepare for audits.
Daily responsibilities:

Watch over computer systems to make sure data is safe and protected.

Let your supervisor know if you find any security issues or improvements needed.

Help set up and manage system logs (data, application, network, identity/access logs).
-
Help run tools that collect and report log data.
-
Look for signs of misuse, inefficiency, or security risks in IT systems.
Audit responsibilities:
-
Help the agency get ready for security audits from organizations like the IRS, SSA, FBI, etc.
-
Help fix any issues found during audits.
-
Assist in writing required audit reports.
Policy and security work:
-
Help create and update security policies, standards, and procedures.
-
Make recommendations to make new or old systems more secure.
-
Perform regular security audits to ensure rules are being followed.

Help choose or improve security software/tools.
Other responsibilities:
-
Stay up to date on new laws and security requirements.

Train and guide staff on security best practices.

Work with many IT teams (admins, developers, support staff, etc.).
Required Skills
-
Strong knowledge of information security tools, laws, and best practices.
-
Understanding of system vulnerabilities and how to fix them.
-
Familiarity with networks, user authentication, and access control.
-
Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS, SOC 2, etc.).
-
Experience with compliance and audits (IRS, SSA, HIPAA, etc.).
Education:
-
Degree in Information Security or Technology.
Highly Desired:
-
Security certifications (CISSP, CRISC, etc.).
-
Network administration experience.
