Emporia State University is looking for a highly motivated individual to serve Information Technology Support Specialist within the Information Technology (IT) department. Candidates must show an aptitude to solve problems with an approach that puts customer service first. They must demonstrate an enthusiasm for using technology as a tool to enable students, faculty and staff to achieve goals both in the classroom and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deployment Management: Deployment and configuration of Windows, MAC and other device hardware. Assist in the configuration and deployment of client system (computers, mobile devices, printers, etc). Work with System administrators to deploy server based virtual hardware including virtual desktops and kiosks. Maintain an ongoing asset inventory database, cataloging PC's, software licenses, computer labs.
  • Endpoint deployment team within IT system and client solutions. Responsible for managing end user support via tickets submitted to the Help Desk. Schedule and carry out the necessary tasks to resolve the technical support issue related to end points including computers, printers, software, and other connected devices and applications. Manage time and complete the task in a given time frame. this position will also be responsible for mentoring student technicians in customer service for computers, software, diagnostics, communication and time management.
  • Printing and Other Systems: Install, manage and configure IP based printing solutions in a network printing architecture based on a Windows Server and Active Directory. Install and implement 3rd party solutions and web based software and equipment.
  • Documentation and Research: Contribute a detailed library of documentation that covers the design, implementation and maintenance of routine procedures. Research new systems and/or solutions that will integrate with existing solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least three years of experience with Information Technology or similar industries.
  • Or an Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field with at least two years of experience will also suffice.
  • Or a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field with at least one year of experience is preferred. 
  • Relevant higher education coursework, technical training, or industry certifications may substitute for an equivalent amount of required experience.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $26.59 - $31.24 hourly
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
