Role Overview
The Joinery Site Foreman / Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and ensuring the quality installation of all joinery works on-site. This role ensures that work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities1. Site Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise daily joinery installation activities, ensuring work is carried out as per plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with main contractors, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow.
- Allocate tasks to site teams and monitor progress.
2. Quality Control
- Inspect joinery materials delivered to the site for quality and compliance.
- Ensure installation meets quality standards and project requirements.
- Identify and resolve defects or discrepancies at early stages.
3. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Highlight delays, issues, or risks affecting project timelines.
- Ensure adherence to project schedule.
4. Safety Management
- Enforce site safety rules and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for joinery teams.
- Report any incidents or hazards immediately.
5. Drawing Interpretation & Problem Solving
- Review technical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Provide on-site solutions to design or installation challenges.
- Liaise with design and production teams for clarifications.
6. Workforce Management
- Supervise carpenters, installers, and helpers to ensure efficient use of manpower.
- Manage attendance, productivity, and discipline of joinery staff.
- Coordinate with HR/PM for manpower requirements.
7. Material & Tool Management
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and usage of joinery materials.
- Monitor site inventory and report shortages in advance.
- Check tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Technical Certification in Carpentry, Joinery, Civil, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of site experience in joinery installation and fit-out works.
