The Alaska Licensed Plumber supports CCI Industrial's construction and maintenance operations by installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial, industrial, and facility plumbing systems in compliance with Alaska State Plumbing Code. This position works on a rotational schedule and operates in a remote bush Alaska location (Dillingham, AK), requiring adaptability to cross-cultural environments and limited-resource settings.This role requires an experienced, self-motivated professional who can perform high-quality work in remote and extreme environments while supporting CCI's mission and client expectations.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, water supply lines, drainage systems, hydronic heating, and related components.
  • Inspect, test, and ensure safe functioning of plumbing and mechanical systems per state code and project specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and regulatory requirements to perform compliant installations.
  • Conduct system diagnostics, leak detection, and repairs on pipes, valves, pumps, pressure systems, and utility lines.
  • Properly document work performed, materials used, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with CCI supervisors, client representatives, and contractors regarding job progress and issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site; follow company, OSHA, MSHA, and Alaska regulatory standards.
  • Be a Safety Leader! Ensure the resources and commitment to HSE is of top priority for all employees within the company.
  • Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
    • Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.
    • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
    • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
    • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
    • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
    • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
    • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
    • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of Alaska Plumbing Code and industry best practices.
  • Experience with commercial and industrial plumbing installations.
  • Proficiency using manual and power tools associated with the plumbing trade.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to complete documentation accurately and timely.
  • Ability to work independently.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Alaska Plumber License (Journeyman or Master required).
  • Valid driver's license
  • Previous experience in commercial or industrial plumbing in a remote artic enviroment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting construction, facilities maintenance, or infrastructure projects in Alaska Native communities.
  • Familiarity with cold-weather plumbing practices, freeze protection systems, and arctic construction methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and problem-solve with limited resources on-site.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATION (FCE) LEVEL 3.

  • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 30 pounds from waist level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man. Have correct vision to at least 20/40.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
