Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Plumber with at least 5 years of hands-on experience to join our growing service and repair team. This position focuses on residential and commercial plumbing service calls, diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and minor installations. You will work independently in the field while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring all work complies with local codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to residential and commercial service calls to diagnose and resolve a wide range of plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, low pressure, and system failures.
- Perform repairs and replacements on pipes, fixtures (sinks, toilets, faucets, water heaters, disposals), valves, drains, and related components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and services to identify potential problems before they escalate.
- Clear drain lines using augers, jetters, cameras, and other diagnostic tools.
- Install and repair water supply, drainage, and gas piping systems (where licensed/qualified).
- Troubleshoot and repair water heaters, sump pumps, backflow prevention devices, and other common residential/commercial plumbing equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes when needed for repair or retrofit work.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs via mobile service software. (HCP)
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining issues, recommended solutions, and costs in an honest and transparent manner.
- Ensure jobsite safety, clean up work areas, and adhere to all OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Occasionally assist with larger projects or mentor apprentices when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience as a journeyman (or equivalent) in plumbing service and repair.
- Proven experience in both residential and commercial settings preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on service calls.
- Proficiency with common plumbing tools and equipment, including drain cleaning machines, pipe threaders, video inspection cameras, and pressure testing devices.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation (company vehicle provided for work use).
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75+ lbs), work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent customer service attitude and communication skills.
- Commitment to quality workmanship, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Backflow certification, medical gas, or other relevant specialties a plus (but not required).
