Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper

Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper with UAE experience to manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support the finance function. Experience with Mycom (or similar ERP/accounting systems) is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts & Bookkeeping

  • Record daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system (Mycom preferred)
  • Maintain and update general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements, cash accounts, and supplier statements
  • Assist with monthly closing processes and financial reporting

Payables & Receivables

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments
  • Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing for all transactions

Cash & Revenue Control

  • Verify daily sales reports and reconcile with POS systems
  • Monitor cash handling procedures and highlight discrepancies
  • Assist in implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and company policies
  • Maintain accurate records for audit purposes
  • Support VAT documentation and reporting requirements

Operational Support

  • Coordinate with operations team for invoice verification and cost control
  • Assist in inventory costing and stock variance checks
  • Support management with ad-hoc financial reports and analysis

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years UAE experience in accounting/bookkeeping (hospitality experience preferred)
  • Experience with Mycom is highly preferred (or similar ERP/accounting systems)
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills in English

Working Conditions

  • 6-day work week (as per UAE hospitality industry standards)
  • Based in Dubai (Jumeirah)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
