Junior Cinematic Artist (UE5 + Blender)

Job Overview
We’re seeking an energetic and motivated Junior Cinematic Artist specializing in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) and Blender to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will craft immersive cinematic sequences, develop compelling visual storytelling, and bring virtual worlds to life through innovative 3D art and animation. This is an exciting opportunity for emerging talent eager to grow their skills in a fast-paced environment that values creativity, technical expertise, and a passion for digital art. You will work directly alongside our Cinematic Lead to bring high-fidelity cinematic visions to life. A "visual storyteller" who can be efficient in Sequencer and isn't afraid to jump into Blender to fix a mesh or prep a prop.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior artists and designers to conceptualize and produce high-quality cinematic sequences using Unreal Engine 5 and Blender.
  • Create detailed character animations, motion graphics, and visual effects that enhance storytelling and gameplay experiences.
  • Develop and refine 3D models, textures, and environments with online tools
  • Implement animations and visual effects
  • Assist in pre and post-production tasks
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, typography, color theory, and graphic design principles to craft visually compelling content.
  • Support version control workflows using Perforce or similar tools to maintain organized project files across teams.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in character animation, motion graphics, or cinematic content creation.
  • Proficiency with Blender (3D software), including modeling, rigging, animation, and rendering techniques.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) for real-time scene development and cinematic implementation.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro for post-production tasks.
  • Basic scripting skills in C#, Python or C++ to automate workflows or develop custom tools within Unreal Engine or Blender.
  • Understanding of computer graphics concepts including lighting, shading, texturing, and rendering pipelines.
  • Knowledge of anatomy for realistic character modeling and animation; experience with ZBrush or Mudbox is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Unreal Proficiency: You know Sequencer inside and out (keyframes, spawnables, camera rails).
  • Unreal Blueprints
  • : Basic knowledge of Blueprints—enough to solve simple problems or repetitive tasks.
  • Blender Skills: You can model, UV, and export assets for Unreal correctly.
  • The Eye: You understand focal lengths, composition, and how to guide a viewer’s eye.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated passion for creating stories or collaborating creatively.
  • Bonus Points: Modeling and character animation or basic material/shader knowledge.Job Details

Additional Job Details

  • 2-Month Contract (w/ potential for extension).
  • 3 days in-person (Quinlan) / 2 days remote.
