Junior Designer/Assistant to Principal

We are a luxury interior design studio specializing in highly personalized residential interiors with a refined, detail-oriented approach. We are seeking a proactive, organized, and design-minded Junior Interior Designer / Assistant to support both the creative and operational aspects of the studio. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced luxury design environment while working closely with the Principal Designer on all phases of projects.

Responsibilities

Design & Project Support

  • Assist with sourcing furniture, fabrics, wallpapers, trims, lighting, and accessories
  • Request and track pricing, lead times, samples, and vendor communications
  • Support design presentations, client meetings, and installations
  • Organize and maintain sample library and materials inventory
  • Assist with mood boards, presentation materials, and client binders
  • Take project notes and maintain organized project documentation
  • Help maintain project timelines and follow up with vendors, workrooms, and contractors
  • Research products, materials, and design resources
  • Assist with Photoshop renderings, presentation layouts, and basic CAD drafting as needed
  • Assist the Principal Designer with occasional personal and executive support tasks, including local errands, scheduling coordination, and pickups/drop-offs as needed

Administrative & Studio Operations

  • Maintain organization of studio, design trays, digital files, and Dropbox folders
  • Assist with social media updates and studio marketing efforts
  • Coordinate deliveries, sample returns, and vendor pickups
  • Support inventory tracking and ordering of office/studio supplies
  • Help ensure smooth day-to-day studio operations and presentation readiness
  • Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and general studio coordination

Qualifications

  • Degree or coursework in Interior Design or related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Comfortable driving locally for project-related errands, sourcing, and installations
  • 1–3 years of experience in interior design, design assistance, or creative studio environment preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and follow-through
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Canva, or similar design software is a plus
  • Comfortable working in both creative and administrative capacities
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
