This is not your average dog walking position. We focus heavily on intentional handling, structured walks, calm state of mind, accountability, and creating safe experiences for both dogs and owners. Many of the dogs we work with require thoughtful handling, consistency, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities

- Learn and apply Peter & Pals handling methodologies and expectations

- Practice leash handling, thresholds, engagement work, place work, crate routines, and calm state management
- Maintain a professional and calm demeanor during client interactions and dog handling
- Assist with transporting dogs safely when needed
- Communicate updates, observations, and progress notes clearly
- Provide clients with walk updates, including photos and videos from each session
- Uphold cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
Qualifications
- Comfortable around dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Interested in dog behavior, training, or the pet care industry
- Calm, patient, observant, and reliable
- Open to feedback and eager to learn
- Physically capable of walking multiple miles daily and handling active dogs
- Must have reliable personal transportation to travel to and from client appointments
- Travel time between clients is included as paid working time
- Must have a smartphone capable of taking and sharing photos/videos for client updates
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Experience is a plus, but not required. The right attitude, willingness to learn, and consistency matter most.
