Junior Editor Mathematics

About the role
This position is responsible for managing the timely production of high-quality Maths titles in accordance with set budgets. Individual will handle projects from the commissioning stage to sending off the printed books to authors; quality check of manuscripts; coordinate with authors and designers.

This primarily includes all activities associated with proofreading, and editing of content, in terms of plagiarism check, content accuracy, consistence of content, style, grammar, and quality. He/she will be liaising with designers to ensure design briefs, illustrations, layout/format of titles are according to relevant budget/space/time allocations. Individual will liaise with authors and others to determine progress and encourage timely submission of high-quality work.

About you

The successful candidate should possess:

A strong school education and relevant Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject; Master’s degree preferred
At least 1 to 2 years’ experience in teaching primary or middle school (Prior experience in publishing – editing, proofreading, and content development will be an added advantage.
Impeccable English language with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office particularly Word and Excel
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills with an excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, with strong emphasis on scheduling and managing multiple tasks, establishing and managing deadlines, and communicating status and concerns to multiple parties
