Job Description
- Support the execution of procurement operations for materials, equipment, and subcontracted services in accordance with project timelines, technical requirements, and company procurement policies.
- Prepare and circulate Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to approved suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that all specifications, quantities, and delivery conditions are clearly defined.
- Review and analyze supplier proposals based on commercial competitiveness, technical compliance, and delivery reliability.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site teams, and consultants to verify material specifications and ensure timely review and approval of submittals.
- Assist in preparing Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy of details, proper authorization, and compliance with approved budgets.
- Monitor order progress and liaise with suppliers, logistics agents, and site teams to ensure timely delivery and resolve potential delays or discrepancies.
- Maintain an updated procurement tracking log covering RFQs, quotations, orders, deliveries, and payments for effective reporting and control.
- Participate in the evaluation and prequalification of suppliers based on quality, performance, and pricing history to maintain a reliable vendor database.
- Verify supplier invoices, delivery notes, and related documentation for accuracy before submitting for approval and payment processing.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement guidelines, ethical sourcing principles, and contractual requirements.
- Contribute to cost control efforts by identifying potential savings, negotiating favorable terms, and supporting value engineering initiatives.
- Assist in improving procurement workflows, documentation systems, and supplier communication practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil or mechanical.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in procurement, purchasing, or materials coordination within the construction or engineering industry (GCC experience preferred).
- Sound understanding of construction materials, consumables, and equipment used across Civil, Structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); working knowledge of ERP or procurement software systems is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and documentation abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Effective coordination and communication skills to liaise with multiple departments and external vendors.
- Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple purchase requirements simultaneously under pressure.
- Familiarity with local and international procurement practices, logistics procedures, and import/export documentation is an added advantage.
