Junior Quantity Surveyor (Construction)
Key Responsibilities1. Quantity Take-Off & Measurement
- Conduct quantity take-offs for civil, architectural, and MEP works.
- Prepare BOQs, material quantity sheets, and measurement records.
- Verify quantities on-site and coordinate with engineers for clarifications.
2. Cost Estimation & Budget Support
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, pricing sheets, and tender documents.
- Update cost databases with material prices and supplier quotes.
- Support cost comparison and value engineering exercises.
3. Procurement Assistance
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare comparison statements and recommend cost-effective options.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding delivery timelines and material specifications.
4. Contract Administration
- Support preparation of subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and variation documentation.
- Maintain contract logs, approval records, and correspondence files.
- Assist in preparing letters, reports, and commercial notifications under guidance.
5. Progress Valuation & Payment Support
- Assist in monthly valuation of work progress for interim payment certificates.
- Verify subcontractor claims, invoices, and measure completed work.
- Maintain cost tracking sheets and update financial records.
6. Site Coordination
- Conduct site visits to verify progress and record as-built measurements.
- Liaise with engineers, supervisors, and planning teams to collect data.
- Support preparation of handover and close-out documentation.
Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills
- Good understanding of construction drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
- Knowledge of measurement standards (POMI, CESMM, NRM, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with AutoCAD, CostX, CCS, or similar software is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of cost control, procurement, and contracts.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 2-5 years experience in construction
- Experience working with contractors or consultants preferred.
Work Environment
- Office-based with routine site visits.
- Coordination with engineers, project managers, and senior QS staff.
- Fast-paced industry requiring strong adaptability and learning mindset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to BD300.000 per month
