About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable K–5 Resource Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for elementary students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, student-centered, and skilled in delivering targeted interventions that promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction in reading, writing, math, behavior, and executive functioning aligned with student IEP goals.
  • Deliver instruction in small-group, one-on-one, and push-in or pull-out settings.
  • Use evidence-based strategies, accommodations, and curriculum modifications to support student success.
  • Monitor, collect, and analyze student data to guide instruction and document progress.
  • Participate in the referral, evaluation, and eligibility process for special education services.
  • Develop, implement, and update IEPs in compliance with state and district guidelines.
  • Communicate regularly with families to share progress and discuss student needs.
  • Support students with behavior plans and teach self-regulation and social-emotional skills.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid state special education teaching certification (appropriate for K–5).
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based practices, MTSS/RTI frameworks, and behavior-support strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Prior experience working in an elementary resource or learning-support setting.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and data-driven instruction.
  • Experience with co-teaching models and inclusive instructional practices.
