POSITION OVERVIEW

The Key Account Director (KAD), Oncology is a strategic, field-based commercial leader responsible for driving national and regional access, adoption, and growth of Accord BioPharma’s oncology portfolio across integrated delivery networks (IDNs), large oncology group practices, and organized customer groups.

This role requires deep expertise in oncology, buy-and-bill reimbursement, contracting, and complex healthcare delivery systems. The KAD serves as a trusted executive partner to customers while collaborating cross-functionally to deliver tailored solutions that improve patient access and drive sustainable revenue growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Account Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive national and regional account strategies to achieve access, adoption, and revenue objectives.
  • Executive Customer Engagement: Serve as the executive sponsor and primary strategic advisor to key account stakeholders, aligning corporate offerings with customer goals.
  • Market Access & Reimbursement: Support patient access initiatives and field reimbursement efforts by leveraging expertise in oncology reimbursement, GPOs, 340B, and buy-and-bill dynamics.
  • Contract Strategy & Execution: Lead contracting efforts and manage the successful implementation and pull-through of agreements to ensure aligned financial, access, and patient objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Patient Services, Finance, Legal, Pricing/Contracting, and Trade/Distribution to implement corporate strategies across targeted accounts.
  • Field Sales Alignment: Communicate effectively with field sales leadership to optimize account access, remove barriers to entry, and ensure coordinated execution.
  • Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs): Lead and conduct QBRs with targeted accounts and internal stakeholders to review performance, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Education: Conduct clinical, economic, and value-based presentations for executive and operational stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer insights; communicate actionable intelligence to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, contracts, and business activities using CRM and reporting tools.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • MBA, PharmD, MPH, MPA, or other advanced degree preferred.
Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or market access roles preferred.
  • Proven success managing large, complex oncology accounts (IDNs, large practices, aggregators).
  • Biosimilar, specialty pharmacy, and/or generic experience strongly preferred.
Functional Expertise

  • Oncology market access, reimbursement, billing and coding experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Medicare Part B, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Commercial Medical and Pharmacy benefits required.
  • Buy-and-bill experience required.
  • Experience with institutional contracting, GPOs, wholesalers, and 340B environments preferred.
Therapeutic Area

  • Oncology experience required.
  • Urology and Immunology experience preferred.
Technology & Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools (Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong virtual communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Clean driving record.
