Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kindergarten Teacher to foster a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, classroom management, and curriculum development. This role involves designing age-appropriate lesson plans, supporting children's social and emotional development, and collaborating with parents and staff to promote a positive educational experience. The Kindergarten Teacher will play a vital role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with educational standards, incorporating literacy, math, science, arts, and physical education.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and standardized testing methods; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school activities, and professional development initiatives.
- Mentor and support students' social-emotional growth while fostering independence and curiosity.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and developmental milestones.
- Incorporate library services and literacy education strategies to promote reading skills among young learners.
- Support children with autism or other special needs through tailored instructional approaches and interventions.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
- Proven classroom experience working with young children in preschool or kindergarten settings.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience with teaching physical education, literacy education, math, and using learning technology tools.
- Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management strategies, and working with children with autism or other developmental needs.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and utilize standardized testing data for instructional planning.
- Experience working in private schools or Montessori environments is a plus. Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
