As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a talented Kitchen & Bath Cabinetry Designer to join our in-house design team.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Kitchen & Bath Cabintry Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing functional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen & bath spaces that meet our clients' needs. You will work closely with customers to understand their vision, provide expert advice, and create designs that enhance their homes. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, a passion for interior design, and proficiency in CAD software. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a strong understanding of kitchen & bath planning, and enjoys seeing projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to determine their kitchen & bath design preferences and requirements.
- Create Space Plans & Elevations
- Estimate cabinetry costs accurately and manage pricing strategies
- Create detailed cabinetry proposals for various projects
- Work with the Director of Design on cabinetry designs to align with overall project aesthetics and functionality
- Collaborate with internal teams, including designers and project managers, to ensure seamless project execution
- Develop and present mood boards, material selections, and detailed cabinetry plans
- Coordinate with vendors for samples, pricing, and availability
- Ensure plans align with building codes and project constraints
- Track project progress and support clients through the design process
- Maintain organized project files and communication logs
- Create detailed kitchen layouts using CAD software to visualize designs.
- Provide expert recommendations on materials, finishes, and appliances.
- Manage the remodeling process from initial consultation through project completion.
- Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the design process to ensure satisfaction.
- Conduct inside sales by promoting kitchen products and services effectively.
- Utilize basic math skills to calculate measurements and material quantities accurately.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new products to provide innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of proven experience in kitchen design or interior design.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Familiarity with remodeling processes and techniques is advantageous.
- Proficient in design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Chief Architect, or similar)
- Strong understanding of cabinetry layout, appliance specs, and construction drawings.
- Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Collaborative, proactive, and client-focused approach.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NKBA certification or Interior Design degree
- Experience working with the cabinetry manufacturers we work with: Woodmode, Columbia, Neff, Signature, and Grabill
- Experience working within a design-build or residential remodeling firm
*Pay is negotiable based on experience
