Overview

StoneWater Golf Club is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting the culinary staff in food preparation, and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the culinary and hospitality industries and are eager to contribute to a high-quality food service experience.

Responsibilities

• A StoneWater kitchen porter performs supportive work to help the kitchen run on schedule with prep, cleanliness (including dishwashing) rotating stock with putting orders away and more.
• Washing dishes, equipment and utensils to make sure everything is cleaned and sanitized and ready to prepare and serve food
• Sanitizing and cleaning- would assist in making sure surfaces and dish machine area along with other areas are properly cleaned and organized. Assist in cleaning larger equipment like stovetops, hood filters, countertops etc. Porter will sweep/mop, wipe out trash cans, change garbage liners, and help clean and organize chemical and mop sink area.
• Inventory/ Receiving deliveries- the porter will help managers manage inventory by assisting organizing food storage and rotating incoming deliveries properly using FIFO method. It will also be porters responsibility to put away and organize supply orders such paper products, kitchen tools etc.
• Basic food preparation- help chefs with basic food preparation such as chopping, punching and blanching French fries, slicing items on slicer, assist with making certain wraps/sandwiches, washing/peeling etc.
• This position is a full-time position and mostly AM shifts. You may be required to work some evenings. Weekend availability is required.

Skills

• Previous experience in a culinary or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills to maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• A team player with good communication skills who enjoys helping others.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn about food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
