Kare Health & Wellness is seeking a motivated Lab Assistant & Phlebotomist to join our growing clinical team. This position combines direct patient care with laboratory support, allowing you to play an essential part in delivering exceptional patient-centered services while assisting the lab with important administrative and operational tasks.
You will be assisting with patient blood draws, accurately labeling and documenting specimens, pricing lab work for patients and entering lab orders and requistions into multiple laboratory systems.
Job Summary:
- Full Time (32-40 Hours)
- No Weekends / No Nights / No Major Holidays
- Functional Medicine Clinic setting
Job Duties can include:
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical histories in EHR
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment for patients
- Uphold patient confidentiality and privacy standards
- Participate in ongoing personal & professional development and training opportunities
- Provide support to patients via messaging and phone calls.
- Prepare patients for blood draws and explain procedures
- Perform venipuncture and ensure proper sample collection
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols
- Accurately label and document all specimens
- Enter lab orders and requisitions into multiple laboratory systems
- Price out lab work for patients
- Process and prepare specimens (spin down, pour off, packaging for shipping)
- Calm and reassure nervous patients during procedures
- Schedule lab appointments via phone and internal messaging systems
Job Requirements:
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Phlebotmist Certification
- College preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 200 lab draws
- Medical Clinic (required)
- EHR (preferred)
