Are you looking for a career as a Lab Associate - Phlebotomist? Look no further than BJC! This position is in Phlebotomy. Join our Phlebotomy Laboratory team to be an integral part of delivering precise and reliable laboratory results that impact patient outcomes positively.

This is a float lab associate position. The team member will float between our campuses to cover other phlebotomists. The hours could fall between 630am-5pm depending on who they are covering. When the team member is not floating to other locations, the "home base" is at West Siteman cancer center from 7am-330pm (M-F).

  • Phletobomy experience is strongly preferred

Role Purpose

Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.


Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
  • Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
  • Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.

The work that I do as an ER, nurse contributes to the overall mission statement for BJC by providing patient advocacy, every patient that walks into BJC facility, we are there to advocate for the patient from the time they enter to the time that they are discharged. Second clinical excellence. Our goal is to provide excellent care for every patient that walks into a BJC facility. Third employee satisfaction. We, that is our goal to make sure that our employees are satisfied as well as our patients.
