We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) specializing in substance abuse treatment to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual treatment needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, relapse prevention, and mental health support.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage urgent situations effectively and ensure patient safety.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, medical professionals, and family members, to support holistic patient recovery.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical record standards.
- Facilitate home and community care initiatives to extend support beyond clinical settings, ensuring continuity of care in patients’ everyday environments.
Experience
- Proven experience in addiction counseling or clinical mental health counseling within hospital or community settings.
- Strong background in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and social work principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in crisis management, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care including PTSD-specific approaches.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation procedures, and electronic health record systems.
- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding systems and CPT coding for billing purposes is preferred.
- Knowledge of addiction medicine principles, case management strategies, and patient assessment techniques is essential.
- Ability to work effectively within HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive patient information with professionalism and discretion.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree Human Service field from an accredited college
- Licensed as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in the state of Vermont and/or Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) in the State of Vermont
- Demonstrated ability to provide quality program interventions and coordination to mental health and chemically dependent clientele
- Counseling experience with patients with addiction in a group setting strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
