Land Surveyor (1 Month Project)

We are hiring a Land Surveyor for a short-term project in Qatar. The selected candidate will conduct and supervise land and property surveys, prepare maps, reports, and legal documentation, coordinate with engineering and architectural teams, and ensure all survey results are accurate and compliant with project requirements.

Nature and Scope of Position / Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume responsibility for the work performed.
• Verify the accuracy of survey data, including field measurements and calculations.
• Conduct or oversee surveys to establish legal property boundaries based on deeds and titles.
• Record survey results including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features.
• Calculate heights, depths, positions, property lines, and other terrain characteristics.
• Prepare and supervise the preparation of survey-related data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documentation.
• Write property boundary descriptions for deeds, leases, and other legal documents.
• Plan and perform ground surveys to establish baselines, elevations, and geodetic measurements.
• Research legal records, survey archives, and land titles to obtain boundary information for survey areas.
• Coordinate survey findings with engineering, architectural teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Adjust and maintain surveying instruments to ensure optimal accuracy.
• Establish control points for mapping using geodetic and engineering tools.
• Determine coordinates, longitudes, and latitudes using GPS, theodolites, levels, transits, and similar instruments.
• Train and oversee assistants and helpers involved in survey work or map drafting.
• Review survey objectives and specifications to prepare survey proposals or guide others in proposal preparation.
• Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data to determine the positions and elevations of landforms.
• Develop criteria for survey methods, procedures, and instrument design or modification.
• Conduct research on surveying and mapping techniques, including photogrammetry and electronic data processing.
• Direct aerial surveys of designated areas.
• Determine photographic equipment specifications and suitable altitudes for aerial photography.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations & Maintenance Engineers of QU.

Experience and Education

• Diploma in Surveying from a reputable university or institute (minimum 2-year diploma).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Surveyor in a reputable construction firm.
• Strong fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, internet research, data transfer, and preparing well-formatted reports.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Contract length: 1 month

Pay: QAR5,000.00 per month
