Landscape Design Manager

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Landscape Design Manager to lead our landscape architecture team in creating inspiring, sustainable, and functional outdoor environments. In this role, you will oversee all phases of landscape design projects, from conceptual planning through detailed drafting and construction documentation. Your expertise will drive the development of compelling designs that balance aesthetic appeal with environmental responsibility, ensuring client satisfaction and project success. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process for landscape projects, including site analysis, conceptual development, and detailed design documentation using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D, and Civil 3D.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to understand project goals and translate them into innovative landscape solutions.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and estimates for hardscape features like paving, retaining walls, irrigation systems, and land grading.
  • Utilize GIS software such as ArcGIS or ArcView for site analysis, land surveying data integration, and sustainable planning initiatives.
  • Oversee the integration of horticultural principles into landscape designs, emphasizing native plantings and sustainable practices.
  • Coordinate with construction teams during implementation to ensure design fidelity and quality control throughout the build process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in landscape architecture or landscape design management with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful project leadership.
  • Proficiency in design software including SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator), MicroStation, and Land surveying tools.
  • Solid understanding of civil engineering principles related to grading, drainage, irrigation systems, and land surveying techniques.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and environmental considerations in landscape architecture.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating processes and landscaping construction methods including hardscape installation and land maintenance.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, team members, contractors, and vendors.
