Landscape Maintenance Foreman

Role and Responsibilities

The Landscape Maintenance Foreman’s responsibilities include maintaining the yards of private and corporate clients, mowing lawns, planting grass, applying pesticides, and ensuring that green space looks beautiful. To be a successful as a Landscape Maintenance Foreman, you should be creative and be able to work well in a team or on your own. Ultimately, a top-notch lawn care specialist is knowledgeable about plant life suitable to the area and has physical strength and stamina.

· Meet with clients and identify yard maintenance needs.

· Maintain beds and flower beds.

· Mow turf and maintain turf areas.

· Trimming/maintaining hedges and trees, shrubs and flowers.

· Maintain the aesthetic appeal of client’s landscape, lawns and outdoor areas.

· Shovel snow from walkways, if necessary.

· Apply de-icer in wintertime to commercial sites.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Valid Driver’s License, must be able to back up truck and trailer, operate commercial mowers and equipment.

· Experience in lawn care and maintenance.

· Familiarity with lawn care equipment and tools.

· Attention to individual and team safety.

· Must be well organized with strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.

· Must be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills.

· Must be professional in appearance and actions.

· Must be detail oriented and quality driven.

· Must have the ability to think proactively, plan ahead and problem solve.

Additional Notes

Physical demands require constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Frequently operates machinery and will use hand/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials. Frequently required to stand and walk, life and/or move up to 50 to over 100 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Constantly required to communicate with ability to talk and hear. Job will require constantly working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements. This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries.
