Job Description

Title: Landscaper/Laborer

Department/Division: Pala Raceway

Status: Full-Time

Supervisor: Lead Flagger/Raceway Manager

Subordinates: None

Position Summary

Maintain the raceway property keeping all areas clean and presentable. May be used as backup to flagger position when needed. Ongoing weed abatement and general minor repairs on equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Remove weeds throughout the entire venue including keeping the main entrance clean from weeds, trash, and debris that has washed down the driveway.
  • Trim trees to keep signs open and visible for patrons to
  • Keep water spigots on the tracks clean, visible and in good operating
  • Maintain fence closures and fix (or report) broken fences around the
  • Making sure that there is only one way on the tracks and one way off the
  • Mow and edge the grass
  • Ensure the kids' playground equipment is clean and in good operating
  • Clean up shop area and pits by disposing of trash, tires, fuel
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of bleachers and
  • Make sure the pavilion areas are clean and presentable to patrons by removing dirt and
  • Clean and maintain the permanent restrooms at raceway site by replacing toilet paper and other restroom consumables. Restrooms need a clean and healthy environment for patrons and employees.

  • Ensure and maintain the start gates operating condition including cleanliness and readiness for all event or when asked by management.

Knowledge, Skills, Certifications, And Abilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or
  • Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians.
  • Must successfully pass a Fingerprint-based background check of potential employees, volunteers, and contractors pursuant to Public Law 101-630 - Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
