Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support ongoing cases and projects.
- Assist in drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage and organize case files utilizing document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure easy retrieval and compliance.
- Review legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to applicable laws including UCC law, tribal regulations, patent law, and workers' compensation statutes.
- Support attorneys with project management tasks related to litigation, estate planning, environmental initiatives, or immigration cases.
- Perform data entry and maintain meticulous records of case activities, deadlines, and client information.
- Participate in client interviews under supervision to gather relevant information for case development while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Paralegal experience or prior legal administrative experience demonstrating familiarity with law office operations.
- Strong research skills with proficiency in Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and proofread meticulously.
- Experience with document review, case management software (such as iManage), and document management systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal regulations, patent law, landlord-tenant law, personal injury law, workers' compensation law, immigration law, and litigation processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Effective communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette for interviewing clients or interacting with team members.
- Ability to handle clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, transcription, and maintaining organized files within a busy law office environment. Pay: $24.93 - $30.03 per hour
