Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Law Clerk/Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a broad spectrum of legal practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law and regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, and personal injury law. Your responsibilities will include conducting legal research, managing case files, drafting documents, and assisting with litigation and administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, and other legal research tools to support case strategies across multiple practice areas.
- Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate record-keeping and easy retrieval of information.
- Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws including UCC law and tribal regulations.
- Support litigation processes through document review, data entry, filing, and organization of evidence for court submissions or client review.
- Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information to facilitate case development in areas such as family law or immigration law.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients, attorneys, courts, and external agencies via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
- Assist in administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, proofreading documents, transcription work, and supporting project management initiatives.
Experience
- Prior paralegal or legal administrative experience in a law office setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, patent law or tribal regulations is advantageous.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw is essential.
- Experience using document management systems like iManage or Clio along with legal case management software such as PCLaw is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents and reports; proofreading and transcription skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to perform legal research effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures including filing procedures and clerical experience supporting a busy law office environment. Pay: $26.46 - $31.87 per hour
