Shopify Backend Lead Manager

Location: Remote
Job Type: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM EST)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Shopify Backend Lead Manager to guide and support our team of junior Shopify designers. The ideal candidate will oversee backend tasks, optimize client websites, ensure stores are fully prepared for product drops, and manage password-protected launch pages. This role also includes managing clients’ SMS and email automation flows.

You will be the go-to expert for Shopify functionality, problem-solving, and quality assurance, ensuring all client projects are delivered on time and meet a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of junior Shopify website designers
• Oversee and optimize Shopify stores based on client requests
• Set up and prepare websites for product drops, launches, and password pages
• Implement, manage, and troubleshoot SMS and email automation flows
• Ensure high-quality project delivery and adherence to deadlines
• Communicate with clients professionally to gather requirements and provide updates
• Review team work for accuracy, performance, and Shopify best practices

Requirements

• Proven experience working with Shopify (2+ years preferred)
• Strong leadership and team-management skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Available Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM EST
• Experience with Shopify backend operations, themes, apps, and integrations
• Experience with SMS and email automation platforms
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in eCommerce conversion optimization
• Familiarity with Shopify Plus (bonus)
• Understanding of UX/UI best practices
