Full-Time Lead Cabinet Designer – Coastal Delaware & Maryland

We are looking for a professional Lead Cabinet Designer with deep experience who can work across our other divisions. A passion for design, construction, and client satisfaction is a must. Behind Closed Doors Custom Closets & Cabinetry, a premier design & remodeling firm proudly serving Coastal Maryland & Delaware for over 26 years, is looking for an exceptionally talented and driven professional to join our team full-time.

About the Role

As a Lead Cabinet Designer, you’ll collaborate closely with clients and an in-house team of seasoned craftsmen to turn visions into reality — from concept to completion. We are a custom cabinet manufacturer. This position requires a solid mix of design creativity, sales expertise, construction knowledge, and a strong commitment to teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to assess needs, preferences, and budgets
• Develop and present design concepts using industry-standard software
• Select materials and finishes aligned with project goals
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and fellow designers to ensure seamless execution
• Build relationships with Builders, Designers, Architects, Realtors and General Contractors
• Leverage your existing relationships with builders, designers and general contractors
• Drive sales through excellent customer service and collaboration

Requirements

• Proven experience in kitchen and bath design, custom cabinet design, including sales and construction
• Proficiency with design tools (e.g., 2020 Design, CabinetVision, Pro Kitchen, AutoCAD)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• A team player with a collaborative mindset and strong work ethic
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Continuing education with current design trends, appliances, lighting, hardware, NKBA chapter meetings and networking groups

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
