Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of dental assistants and support staff, ensuring efficient clinic workflow
  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards
  • Perform chairside assisting with skills in four-handed dentistry, X-ray imaging, vital signs measurement, and medical documentation
  • Manage electronic health records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate and compliant medical records and coding
  • Educate patients about treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral health practices while addressing their questions professionally
  • Oversee the use of advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to support diagnosis and treatment planning

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and HIPAA compliance regulations
  • Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for scheduling, billing, and medical documentation
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and pediatrics to accurately document patient records
  • Experience in pediatric dentistry settings is highly desirable to effectively assist young patients
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety protocols
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with dentists, hygienists, receptionists, and patients effectively
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to train staff on best practices in dental assisting and clinic operations

Pay: $28.13 - $30.00 per hour
