We are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to become the technical authority behind our growing commercial energy portfolio.

This is not a maintenance role and it is not a narrow design position. You will own engineering standards, guide third-party design partners, create and review permit packages, and serve as the licensed PE responsible for maintaining engineering integrity across projects.

What You'll Do

You will own electrical engineering standards across Vikta's Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage (BESS), and DC Fast Charging (DCFC) projects while helping establish the foundation for scalable growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining engineering standards, technical specifications, approved equipment lists, and installation requirements
• Managing and reviewing third-party design partners to ensure all projects meet Vikta standards and AHJ requirements
• Drafting and reviewing complete permit-ready plan sets including single-line diagrams, site plans, interconnection drawings, and electrical packages
• Serving as the PE signatory on approved projects
• Leading electrical engineering efforts for high-power DC fast charging systems and battery storage projects
• Working closely with design and field teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with field execution needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (required)
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience within commercial solar, battery storage, or EV charging infrastructure
• Strong AutoCAD experience with the ability to create permit-ready electrical drawings
• Deep knowledge of NEC, utility interconnection requirements, and applicable electrical and fire codes
• Experience with high-power DC Fast Charging systems (150kW+)
• Ability to manage design resources and maintain technical standards
• Strong ownership mindset with experience building processes in fast-moving environments

Preferred Qualifications

Multi-state PE licenses, active NCEES records, utility-scale BESS experience, OCPP or smart charging experience, commissioning experience, and California energy code familiarity are all highly valued.

• Base salary: $170,000–$195,000 depending on experience
