Job Description: Lead Engineer, Legacy Software Baseline

Overview:
TTC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to manage the Legacy Software Baseline. This critical role involves developing, sustaining, and transitioning legacy Command and Control Systems Engineering Technology (C2SET) and Air Force Modeling and Simulation Training Toolkit (AFMSTT) software systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in military mission planning, operations, and wargaming, along with a proven track record in simulation training and cloud-based services. The Legacy Lead Engineer will ensure the operational sustainability of all training, simulation, and stimulation artifacts, providing support for legacy changes and integration.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Development and Sustainment:
- Lead the development and operational sustainment of C2SET/AFMSTT, ensuring the upkeep and enhancement of current models, systems, and interfaces.
- Ensure the legacy operational sustainment of all operational training, simulation, and stimulation artifacts, maintaining their effectiveness and relevance.
Cloud and RESTful Services:
- Utilize experience with cloud-based services (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure) and RESTful architectures to support and enhance legacy systems.
Military Operations and Planning:
- Relevant experience in military mission planning, operations, and wargaming to support mission-critical functions and ensure alignment with military requirements.
Simulation Training:
- Utilize relevant experience in simulation training at various levels, particularly working with Air Operations Centers (AOCs), to support training and operational readiness.
Legacy Change Management:
- Manage legacy Change Requests (CR), Defect Reports (DR), GitLab ticket changes, user priorities, exercise urgent DRs, Operational Support (OS), fielding changes, exercise changes, etc.
Design and Architecture:
- Design and architect legacy Air and Space Command and Control Environment (ASCCE) and Federation fielding and integration support to maintain and extend the capabilities of legacy systems.
Transition Engineering:
- Support the transition of engineering attributes marked for transition, ensuring a smooth and efficient migration to new systems or platforms.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in developing and operationally sustaining C2SET/AFMSTT, including current models, systems, and interfaces.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure) and RESTful architectures.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in military mission planning, operations, and wargaming.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in simulation training, particularly with AOCs.
- Secret Security Clearance required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical leadership and hands-on experience in managing and sustaining legacy software systems.
- Proven ability to design and architect complex software solutions to support legacy system fielding and integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in managing legacy system artifacts and addressing urgent operational needs.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders in a high-paced environment.
