Lead Home Modification Carpenter & Installer (Remodeling and Handyman Experience)

The Pitch: Meaningful Work with a Steady Paycheck

Are you a highly skilled remodeler or handyman who is tired of the headaches of running your own business? Tired of bidding jobs at night, chasing clients for money, and paying for your own gas?

LiveWell Mobility is a small but highly professional company that approaches both clients and employees with fairness and friendliness. We are looking for a Lead Carpenter/Remodeler to act as our Field Project Lead for the San Antonio and Austin markets. Our mission is to help senior citizens and individuals with mobility challenges live safely and independently in their own homes.

Skip the morning commute to a shop—you will dispatch directly from your driveway in your company truck every morning. We provide the vehicle, the gas card, the materials, and a steady stream of high-end jobs. You bring your hand tools and do what you do best: build, remodel, and install. We expect any candidate that joins our team to portray our core values of respect, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: $24.00 to $30.00 / hour (Based on skills and experience).
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5x for any hours worked over 40.
  • Take-Home Company Truck: Fully equipped with a company gas card (stop putting miles and wear-and-tear on your personal vehicle).
  • Paid Drive Time: You are paid hourly for your windshield time traveling between your home and the job sites.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Since most of our work is scheduled in advance with clients, the work schedule can be flexible (days or hours) if conflicts are known ahead of time. (Occasional weekend work may be required).

What You Will Do (The Responsibilities)

You will be the lead on residential job sites, transforming homes to be safer and more accessible for our senior clients.

  • Carpentry & Remodeling: Perform general home modifications including structural framing, drywall, trim, painting, and widening doorways.
  • Light Trades: Handle light plumbing (e.g., modifying bathrooms) and light electrical work.
  • Equipment Installation & Service: Install heavy-duty grab bars, stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, and residential elevators. You will also deliver equipment and provide service/maintenance on installed units. (Note: We will fully train you on our specific equipment).
  • Project Leadership: Manage the job site from start to finish and supervise subcontractors on larger projects as needed. Ensure the work area is kept clean and communicate clearly with the homeowner.

Who We Are Looking For

We need a detail-oriented professional who takes deep pride in their craftsmanship and enjoys working with seniors.

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience making home repairs like drywall, paint, trim, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry.
  • Education: Trade school degree or Technical Associates degree is preferred. (A Bachelor’s degree is a plus!). The higher your drive to learn, the more opportunity you have to grow professionally within the company.
  • Soft Skills: Must be professional in appearance, possess a highly positive attitude, and have excellent communication skills to interact with our elderly clients.
  • Requirements: You must have knowledge/skill of hand and power tools and provide your own basic hand tools. Must be legally able to work in the US, pass a clean background check, and possess a valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record (strictly required to drive the company truck).
  • HOA Requirement: You must have a secure place to park a commercial company vehicle overnight at your residence.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
