Lead Host

A Fuego Lento is looking for a professional and hospitality driven Host / Hostess to join our front of house team. This position is essential in creating the first and last impression for every guest while helping maintain organized service flow through reservation management, seating coordination, and guest communication.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional under pressure, and comfortable using restaurant systems such as OpenTable and Toast POS in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and seat guests with professionalism and hospitality
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and table flow using OpenTable
• Communicate accurate wait times and guest updates
• Coordinate seating with servers, bartenders, and management to maintain smooth service
• Answer phone calls professionally and assist guests with reservations and inquiries
• Maintain accurate guest notes, special requests, celebrations, and VIP information in OpenTable
• Assist with experience bookings, large parties, and special events
• Use Toast POS to assist with guest management, order coordination, and basic transaction support when needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
• Help create a warm, energetic, and polished guest experience at all times

OpenTable & Toast Expectations

• Comfortable managing reservations, floor plans, table status, and guest pacing through OpenTable
• Ability to adjust seating strategically during high volume service
• Understanding of reservation intervals, walk-ins, waitlists, and table turns
• Familiarity with Toast POS navigation and restaurant communication workflows
• Ability to communicate effectively between front of house and management regarding table availability and service timing

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant host or hospitality experience preferred
• Experience with OpenTable strongly preferred
• Experience with Toast POS is a plus
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to stay calm and organized in busy environments
• Weekend and evening availability required
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
