Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC & Plumbing Technician to oversee and perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, leadership qualities, and a comprehensive understanding of construction, schematics, HVAC design, and property maintenance. This role requires a proactive approach to field service operations, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. A valid driver’s license is essential for this position.

Typical Workday
Show up at the shop at 10am ready to work; plan ahead so that you come prepared to get in a solid 8 hour day (10am-6pm). You may be assigned to service calls and if there are none, you will be performing remodeling work when there are no service calls assigned to you.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate HVAC and plumbing service projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and other mechanical equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately execute projects.
  • Conduct equipment repairs using tools such as ohmmeters, welders, and other mechanical repair instruments.
  • Diagnose issues with HVAC/R systems and develop effective solutions for property maintenance clients.
  • Oversee field service operations including appliance repair, equipment maintenance, welding, and boiler servicing.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians to improve team skills and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and parts used for each project or service call.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction-related HVAC or plumbing fields with a strong background in service technician roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems—including air conditioning, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, and appliance repair.
  • Mechanical knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, property maintenance practices, and equipment repair techniques.
  • Experience working with field service operations across various environments.
  • Skilled in reading blueprints and schematics; familiarity with HVAC/R system layouts is preferred.
  • Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; welding experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in maintenance tasks involving boilers or refrigeration systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
