Lead Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Medical Assistant to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily clinical operations, support medical staff, and ensure exceptional patient care. Your leadership will drive efficiency, uphold high standards of patient service, and foster a collaborative environment that prioritizes safety and quality. Duties

  • Supervise and mentor Medical Assistants and clinical support staff to ensure adherence to best practices in patient care and clinic operations
  • Coordinate patient intake processes, including scheduling, registration, and documentation of medical histories using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, administering medications , and assisting with procedures in office settings
  • Support physicians with procedures related to dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, or paps as needed
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures such as EKG, walking stress, others
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols including Basic Life Support (BLS), infection control standards, and emergency response procedures within Level I or Level II trauma centers or hospital environments
  • Oversee inventory management of medical supplies and equipment necessary for inpatient and outpatient care
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to enhance patient service experience
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, workflow efficiency, and staff development

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with strong leadership skills in a clinical setting; prior office experience preferred
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration (E-Clinical Works
  • Demonstrated ability to perform clinical procedures such as vital signs collection, specimen handling, injections, and intake assessments
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in high-pressure environments such as Level II trauma centers or outpatient clinics
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence and team collaboration

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
