What You’ll Do
Plan, implement, and assess engaging, developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans based on observations and the developmental goals of each child, promoting physical, emotional, intellectual, and social growth.
Nurture each child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development
Model professionalism, positivity, and a commitment to the school’s mission and core values.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
Build and maintain strong relationships with families by providing regular updates on children’s progress and classroom activities.
Collaborate with other teachers and school leaders to ensure excellence in every classroom
✅ Qualifications
CDA or Associates Degree (required) Bachelor’s degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education or related degree (preferred)
Meets all Minnesota state licensing requirements for early childhood staff
1+ year of experience working with children ages 6 weeks – 5 years (preferred)
Passion for early childhood education and a joyful, caring attitude
Reliable and professional with consistent attendance
Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, and team members
Maintains composure and professionalism when addressing stressful situations or unexpected challenges
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to ensure child safety, facilitate programs, and respond to emergencies. Infant and Young Toddler Teachers must be able to safely lift infants in and out of cribs and perform other caregiving duties
Remains alert and engaged while supervising children at all times
Meets all background check and fingerprinting requirements per Minnesota state licensing regulations
Completes required pre-service, onboarding, and annual training hours
Adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation standards
Maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude and commitment to The Gardner School’s mission and values
