Lead Preschool Teacher - Pre-Kindergarten Classroom

Color My World Child Care & Preschool is currently seeking a Lead Pre-Kindergarten teacher. We are looking for teachers who can lead and help develop children who are preparing to enter kindergarten the next fall. The hours will vary between 7:00am-5:00pm. We are looking for someone who has great communication with parents and staff, loves children, attentive, has leadership skills and is a team-player. This position could start immediately if available. We offer top pay for qualified and reliable applicants. Applicants with CDA or Early Childhood Education credits will be given first priority. Job Responsibilities:

• Understand & Adhere to the Mandatory Child Abuse guidelines
• Responsible for timely, positive & open communication with CMW management team regarding issues &/or concerns with children, parents or employee performance
• Responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing weekly curriculum for classroom according to state regulations and any posting necessary.
• Responsible for initial & ongoing training of breaker/floaters in the classroom and communicating with them as necessary regarding things that are going on in the classroom
• Greeting & talking with parents every day as they drop off & pick up their children
• Responsible for establishing & maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Designs appropriate room arrangement to support creative curriculum
• Responsible for supervising meals and snacks
• Maintains a safe environment by monitoring child areas for hazards and supervising children, both inside and outdoors at all times
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly classroom and Center environment, including toys and furniture (vacuum, take out garbage, dishes, sweep/mop floors, etc) using labels, containers and shelving.
• Initiate and follow up with child assessment tools: teaching strategies GOLD, and ASQ’s
• Attends to the needs of the children; diapers, wiping noses, developmentally appropriate interaction, calm, patient voice at all times, etc
• Responsible for providing a stimulating and nurturing environment

Qualifications/Experience Requirements:

• Must have CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions, and Mandatory Child Abuse Certificates, or obtain in first 3 months of employment. ALL TRAINING HOURS PAID FOR.
• Must have effective communication skills with parents and can communicate clearly
• Good interpersonal skills with children, parents, and co-workers
• Minimum one year experience working in a preschool or child care setting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability in development of classroom curriculum
• Good organization skills and ability to manage classroom
• High School Degree or Equivalent
• Must pass state and federal background checks.
