Hiring: Lead Stager
Full-Time Auburn, CA $30+/hr. DOE Monday–Friday 8:30 am–6:00 pm Weekends Off
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Do you have a genuine appreciation for residential real estate and interior design — and the ability to see a property’s full potential before anyone else does? Does delivering a dramatic transformation, and exceptional client experience give you the kind of professional satisfaction that sustains a long career? If you are highly organized, hands-on, deeply dedicated, and motivated by the tangible rewards of creating beautiful, market-ready results, we would like to speak with you.
Heather’s Houses operates on an uncompromising standard: quality over quantity, without exception. We invest the time to do our best work on every project, and we do not consider a job complete until the result exceeds the client’s expectations. Our reputation is our most valuable asset, and it is a direct reflection of the professionalism and dedication we bring to every engagement. This is a creative role — but one where structure, precision, and professional accountability are the foundation upon which everything else is built.
We are seeking a skilled, motivated Lead Stager to work closely alongside the owner, management, and our experienced team of movers and stagers. The right candidate leads by example, raises the standard on every job, and understands the larger purpose of the work: the products we create are market-ready assets that increase perceived value and directly impact on our clients’ bottom line. That perspective should inform every decision made on the job.
This is not an entry-level position. This is a long-term career opportunity for an accomplished professional who is prepared to take ownership of a leadership role and grow with an established company.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You arrive at every job site with purpose, energy, and a clear plan. You are drawn to the creative challenge of transforming a space into something compelling and marketable, and you take genuine pride in executing that vision with precision. You are organized, composed under pressure, and at your best in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You understand that the most satisfying part of this work is the result — the moment a client sees the transformation and their expectations are exceeded. That outcome motivates you as much as the craft itself. You are a natural leader who elevates the people around you, communicates with clarity and professionalism, and represents the company with integrity in every interaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preview properties and consult with realtors, homeowners, and clients to assess each space, develop project plans, and prepare staging proposals — the foundation of every successful installation

- Direct and support our team of movers and stagers on-site, establishing the tone for quality, efficiency, style, and professionalism
- Collaborate with the owner and management on design decisions, scheduling, client communication, and project execution
- Stage residential and new construction properties across all property types and environments to a high design standard
- Manage, track, and care for all inventory — furniture, accessories, and décor — with accuracy and an eye for detail throughout the staging and de-stage process
- Oversee the inventory management system, ensuring all items are accurately tracked, properly maintained, and accounted for both in the field and at the warehouse; train and support team members on system use and quality control protocols
- Oversee our inventory rental program in collaboration with the office, coordinating logistics and ensuring a consistently positive experience for our rental clients
- Contribute regularly to the team’s social media content and calendar, supporting brand goals and showcasing completed work
- Lead regular team meetings to ensure alignment, clear communication, and accountability across the crew
- Represent Heather’s Houses with consistent professionalism across all client interactions, industry events, and internal team engagements
QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrated leadership experience — managing, mentoring, teaching, and directing a professional team
- Exceptional attention to detail and an unwillingness to leave a job until it meets the highest standard
- Strong design sensibility across contemporary, transitional, and traditional styles
- Proven ability to perform under deadline pressure in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
- Proficiency with technology — iPad, CRM platforms, inventory management software, Slack, Google Suite, and proprietary scheduling systems
- Valid, clean driver’s license; must be comfortable operating box trucks for transport and installations
- Reliable personal transportation — daily travel to job sites across the greater Sacramento area is required
- In-person, warehouse-based role reporting daily to our Auburn, CA location — reliable commute required
- Must be physically capable of sustained active work in a warehouse environment, including outdoor and non-temperature-controlled conditions, across a variety of property types
- Impeccable attendance and reliability — our clients and team depend on consistent, prepared leadership every day
