Lead Teacher at Parent Participation Preschool (Experience Needed)

Sunnymont-Westside is a small center located in a quiet, residential neighborhood with both indoor and outdoor spaces. Our goal is to provide an inclusive and nurturing learning environment with the best practices in early childhood education. Together, educators and families create a supportive community, in which parents are expected to work a minimum of one day per week in their child’s classroom. The teacher works with parents to implement activities within the classroom and support exploration through play.

Our preschool’s philosophy on early childhood education comes from a play-based learning environment. We see children as unique little people, who need to to learn at their own individual paces in a child-centered environment. Children are smart and social, and they need support in making choices and communicating effectively, so they can one day do these skills independently. We strongly believe in the parent participation model, where teachers and families work together to create a supportive community for not only the children, but other parents as well. Children build self-esteem, cognitive skills and physical skills through exploration and problem solving. Diversity should be celebrated within the school community and we look to parents to be active participants in this.
