Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Teacher for our Pre-K program to inspire young learners and foster a vibrant, nurturing classroom environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping early childhood education by designing engaging lesson plans, implementing developmentally appropriate activities, and ensuring each child's social, emotional, and academic growth. Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans for 3-year-old and Pre-K three-year-old students.
- Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling to accommodate extended hours or varying shifts.
- Observe, monitor, and assess children’s developmental progress and communicate findings regularly with parents and guardians.
- Promote and reinforce positive behaviors through developmentally appropriate guidance and discipline techniques.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure a cohesive, team-oriented classroom environment.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom aligned with all health, safety, and licensing standards.
- Prepare and serve snacks and meals in accordance with dietary needs, preferences, and school guidelines.
- Support children with daily routines including toileting, dressing, handwashing, and napping.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, trainings, retreats, and ongoing professional development.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, providing updates on each child’s development and addressing concerns promptly.
- Uphold and follow all school policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Certification Requirements
- DCF Certification (must be completed within 90 days of employment)
- CPR Certification or willingness to obtain it
- CDA Credential or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or willingness to obtain it
- Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (will be required)
Experience
- Previous experience in a daycare, preschool, or early learning setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with early intervention strategies for children with special needs.
- Ability to engage, educate, and interact with young children through developmentally appropriate activities.
- Experience supporting healthy routines, including hygiene, nutrition, and self-help skills.
- Strong understanding of early literacy and foundational math concepts.
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 per week
