Summary
Join our team as a Toddler Lead Teacher, where you’ll play a key role in nurturing curiosity, independence, and development in our growing toddlers! You'll design and implement an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. Using Conscious Discipline practices, you'll guide daily routines, manage the classroom environment, support positive behavior, and build strong relationships with both children and families. You'll also mentor assistant teachers and help create a safe, joyful, and stimulating learning space.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Curriculum & Classroom Management

Develop and implement a toddler-focused MultiPrep curriculum aligned with Ivy Kids and state learning standards.

Plan and organize daily routines, including circle time, sensory play, language-building activities, meals, naps, and outdoor play.

Promote independence and self-help skills (toilet training, feeding, dressing).

Use positive guidance strategies rooted in Conscious Discipline to manage behaviors and support social-emotional learning.

Track each child’s developmental milestones, complete ASQs (Ages & Stages Questionnaires), and maintain accurate attendance and incident reports.
Classroom Environment

Create a safe, welcoming, and age-appropriate classroom in alignment with Georgia Minimum Standards and Ivy Kids’ Critical Procedures.

Organize classroom materials and learning centers that support toddler exploration and discovery.

Conduct both formal and informal parent conferences in collaboration with the Director/Education Director.
Communication & Parent Engagement

Maintain strong parent partnerships through daily reports, ProCare updates, and classroom displays.

Share photos and videos to keep families connected to their child’s day and development.

Address parent questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
Team Leadership & Staff Support

Supervise, coach, and mentor assistant teachers, helping them understand toddler development and classroom routines.

Support the onboarding and training of new staff to uphold Ivy Kids standards.

Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and center events.
Health & Safety
-
Implement all health, safety, and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean, secure environment.

Assist with toilet learning, diapering, and hygiene routines following licensing guidelines.

Administer First Aid/CPR when necessary and ensure proper documentation and communication.
Qualifications

Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for toddler care (age, education, experience).

Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education, ideally with toddlers.

Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or CDA in Early Childhood Education or a related field required.

Physical ability to bend, lift, sit on the floor, and carry children up to 50 pounds.

Excellent communication, patience, and leadership skills.

Commitment to ongoing learning and 24 hours of annual professional development.
