Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Toddler Teacher to join a co-teaching team. In this role, you will inspire young learners during their formative years by creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Your leadership will foster curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth in toddlers, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning. As a Lead Teacher, you will collaborate with families and teachers to ensure each child's unique needs are met with compassion and expertise.
Duties
- Develop and implement dynamic, age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, early intervention strategies, and Montessori principles to support holistic childhood development.
- Lead classroom activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth through play-based learning and structured lessons.
- Manage daily classroom routines, including diapering, meal times, nap schedules, and behavior management to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
- Observe and assess individual child progress using standardized testing methods and documentation to tailor instruction effectively.
- Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and support staff to maintain high standards of classroom management and childcare quality.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding their child's development, milestones, and any concerns while fostering positive relationships built on trust.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health & safety standards, and childcare policies to promote child welfare at all times.
Requirements
- Teacher Qualified per DCFS Regulations (30 college credit hours, 6 college credit hours in Early Childhood Education, 1 year of classroom experience)
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, particularly with toddlers aged one to three years old.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development including literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and special education practices such as early intervention approaches.
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or a related field; Montessori training or preschool experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate standardized testing insights while fostering creativity and independence.
